I was sure that when I started my career in the Printing Industry I was on my way to doing exactly what I wanted to do. Little did I know just how much my experience would come into play as I learned every aspect of the printing industry. Like someone who could play piano without lessons my natural mechanical background proved to be a real asset.
As the years passed, I worked in every department from Pre-press through the printing process to the bindery and finishing department. Later I became the Plant manager for Dallas Label and Box and was responsible for a diverse product mix. The company had several departments that included Flexo label presses, die-cutting, offset presses both large and small, folding carton equipment, letterpresses and more. My experience with all of these different types of equipment and my ability to not only run these machines but to also set company records for production and quality shows the level of expertise and trust that I can bring to the table. As a mid manager I was titled Utility Pressman which allowed me the freedom to work in all departments and be responsible for setting schedules and production quotas.
I found all of this to be a great advantage as I moved into sales coordinator for a team of about twelve salesmen which included the President of the company, the sales manager and others that required an organized and detailed eye and the ability to communicate this critical information to the production department.
As I moved into Sales and Sales management I found this experience invaluable as I was able to interface with both the client and the company with a great deal of knowledge and understanding of the projects and the processes involved with their production.
In the last ten years I have worked with and managed the printing for companies like, Radio Shack, Nokia, Associates Corporation, Citi Group, Meyer and Johnson advertising, D-Group, Point Group, J C Penney Insurance, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Allied Marketing, AMRE, and more.
The most important thing to remember is that all of these companies were not just companies, they were people involved in everyday Print Production that required a great attention to detail and demanded the quality and service that was vital to their marketing. People that needed an expert with the experience and knowledge to provide a wide range of solutions to the wide variety of print projects they were involved with.
My ability complimented by my experience of over twenty years of successful Print Production Management will be an asset and advantage to your company’s ability to complete Print Projects on time and most of all save time and money in the process.
